An Orthodox cross designed around the contrast between warm polished gold and deep black wood inlays. The composition is centered on a sculptural crucifix and complemented by relief imagery, openwork ornamentation, and subtle diamond accents. Decorative elements continue along the side surfaces and articulated bail, giving the piece a highly detailed appearance from every angle.
Task
The goal was to develop a complex multilayered cross combining religious symbolism, sculptural elements, black wood, and fine jewelry ornamentation within a cohesive and production-ready construction. Particular attention was given to the clarity of small details, the proportions of the crucifix, the fit of the wooden inlays, and the treatment of the side surfaces.
Production
The construction is designed for separate production of the metal body, relief and sculptural components, and black wood inlays. The wooden elements are fitted into prepared recesses after the primary metal finishing stages. The openwork side details require careful control of minimum wall thickness and casting reliability. Final finishing combines polishing of the main surfaces, precise refinement of the relief, and diamond setting.
